Interviews

Star Plus’ upcoming singing reality show ‘Taare Zameen Par’ has created a lot of buzz around it because of its unique show format.

The show promises to be one of a kind! We are sure you must be wondering that what makes the show one of a kind as every reality show promises to be one. Read on to know more about from mentor Shankar Mahadevan himself –

He says, “Every reality show has competition but our show won’t have any elimination. There is no competition with others; the children will be competing with themselves. Their parents are also enjoying rather than stressing. There will be 20 kids on the show who will be with us till the end. The kids will perform and Jonita (Gandhi), Tony (Kakkar) and I along with few more teachers will groom them. The show is full of positivity; no criticism and negativity.”

“The kids are often appreciated with small gifts. Also all the kids will get three years of scholarship in Shankar Mahadevan Academy. A show need not always about winning. Here, a child is singing just to sing and not for the stress of getting eliminated,” adds Shankar.

There is a competitive world out there that leads to stress among kids at such a young age. Talking on the same, Shankar says, “These days there is so much of pressure and stress on children. I have never told my kids to become musicians. I didn’t even allow anyone to tell them to do so. I wanted them to do whatever they want to do. They willingly came into music. All the time I see them discussing about music and listening to it. They are happy with that.”
