Popular television actress Lataa Saberwal, best known for her role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has officially announced her separation from husband Sanjeev Seth after 16 years of marriage. The duo, who met on the sets of the long-running Star Plus show, had tied the knot in 2009. They also portrayed husband and wife on-screen, winning hearts with their chemistry.
The couple has an 11-year-old son named Aarav. Taking to her Instagram account, Lataa shared a note confirming the separation and requested privacy from fans and the media.

In her post, Lataa wrote, “After a prolonged silence… I declare that I (Lataa Saberwal) have been separated from my husband (Mr. Sanjeev Seth). I give gratitude to him for giving me a lovely son. I wish him all the best for his future life.”
She further added, “I request everyone to please respect my and my family’s peace and not to ask any questions or call regarding this. Gratitude.”
She also switched off the comment section of the post to avoid any public discussion.
This announcement comes as a surprise to many fans who admired their real and reel-life bond. Notably, Sanjeev was earlier married to actress Resham Tipnis, with whom he has two children — Rishika Seth and Manav Seth. They divorced in 2004.
Lataa Saberwal quits daily soaps, focuses on content creation
Apart from television, Lataa and Sanjeev had turned content creators over the past few years. They run individual YouTube channels where they share food, travel, and lifestyle content with their followers.
Lataa was last seen on-screen in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, a spin-off of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She is also known for her roles in Bollywood films like Vivah and Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo. In 2021, she announced that she had quit daily soaps but remained open to movies, web shows, and cameos.
Sanjeev Seth also appeared in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, reprising his role as Vishambharnath Maheshwari. He was recently seen in the film Maharaj.
Back in 2013, the couple had participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye 6, adding another chapter to their on-screen journey together.
