Actress and Filmmaker Kangana Ranaut has released the teaser of her upcoming film Emergency. She has also revealed the release date of the film.ย
Produced under the banner of her production house Manikarnika Films, the film has been scheduled to be released worldwide on 24th November, 2023. Kangana has played the role of India’s former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi in the film.
Coming to the teaser, it begins with the mention of a date – 25th June, 1975. Then it shows a glimpse of a riot like situation on the streets in which some people are shown pelting stones. Then it switches to a newspaper cut-out which mentions in its headline – State of Emergency Declared. The teaser then features Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan who is behind bars and a text flashes – Opposition Leaders Arrested. Anupam Kher’s voiceover then plays in which he narrates about the chaotic situation of the countryย back then. He concludes saying – ‘Iss tanashahi ko rokna hoga.’ The teaser then features Kangana as Mrs. Gandhi, who says – ‘Mujhe iss desh ki raksha karne se koi nahi rok sakta kyunki India is Indira and Indira is India.’ย
Sharing the teaser, Kangana captioned the post –ย ‘A protector or a Dictator? Witness the darkest phase of our history when the leader of our nation declared a war on itโs people.

Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman and Late Satish Kaushik are playing key roles in the film.ย
