Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has finally addressed the controversy surrounding a viral video she posted while celebrating Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) IPL win. The clip gained widespread attention on social media after users noticed crying sounds in the background and began sharing various theories online.
To clear the air, Nushrratt took to Instagram and shared a series of posts explaining what actually happened.
In one of her Instagram stories, she wrote, “This is the house where I was watching the match. This is the puppy. This is a video that very night a while later. Fearing exactly what has happened, I was advised to delete that video and I did. People, calm your wild thoughts down! Owning a mobile phone doesn’t empower harassment. Do not misinterpret or follow blindly. Think and act responsibly!”
The actor explained that she watched the IPL final at a friend’s house and that a young puppy present there made the sounds heard in the viral clip.
In another post, Nushrratt expressed her frustration over the online speculation. She wrote, “Kuch logon ne hadh hi kar di hai. Ye puppy ke rone ki awaaz se itna bawaal mach gaya hai and someone has issued a fake clarification also on my behalf. So here’s the reality… I was watching the match at my friend’s house and their young puppy was making these crying sounds. This is the video made by my friend at the same time with the same sounds from another angle.”
The actress also called out misinformation circulating online. She shared a clarification post that someone else had posted and placed a “fake” animated sticker over it to indicate that the statement did not come from her.
The controversy began when Nushrratt shared a video of her television screen during the IPL final celebrations. While she intended to celebrate RCB’s victory, the background audio became the focus of online discussions. With her latest posts, the actress has urged people not to jump to conclusions and to verify facts before spreading claims on social media.
