Veteran actor Gufi Paintal, known for his iconic portrayal of Shakuni Mama in the popular television series Mahabharat, passed away at the age of 78.
The sad news was shared by his son on Instagram. He wrote – ‘RIP. With profound grief we announce the sad demise of our father Mr. Gufi Paintal (Shakuni Mama). He passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by family.’
Gufi Paintal’s son revealed the specific details of his father’s final journey. The procession will commence today at 3:30 PM, starting from their residence and making its way to the Oshiwara crematorium, where the beloved veteran actor will be bid a final farewell by family, friends and fans.
Paintal had been in the ICU for the past few days and was initially stable. However, he breathed his last this morning in the presence of his grieving family members.
Throughout his illustrious career, Gufi Paintal had showcased his talent in numerous television shows including RadhaKrishn, Dwarkadheesh, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap and Karmaphal Daata Shani, among others. He had also left his mark in the film industry with notable performances in movies like Rafoo Chakkar, Suhaag and more.
