This weekend ka vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19 left me with a lot of questions and honestly, a lot of disappointment.
As a journalist, I always watch the episodes with a neutral lens. I don’t pick favorites inside the house, nor do I root against anyone. My job is to watch, report, and put out stories. But this time, it feels important to speak openly because what I saw on screen didn’t look like the usual reality check that Weekend Ka Vaar promises. Instead, it looked more like an Amaal Bachao Andolan.
Weekend ka vaar is meant to hold contestants accountable for their week’s actions. But now, it looks like only a selected few are targeted while others are completely whitewashed. In this episode, Ashnoor Kaur was called out for “ordering” Bigg Boss to show her the footage, which is fair. But then, what about Amaal Mallik? He openly said words like “tere baap ko pakad ke maarun, S**la khandaan khatam kar dun”—a direct attack on Abhishek Bajaj’s family, far beyond the limits of healthy arguments. He even pointed fingers at Kunickaa Sadanand’s family, her age and her work. But surprisingly, when Kunickaa replied in the same tone, only she got called out by the host, not Amaal who initiated it.
SK, are you proud that Amaal openly claimed to finish a family on national TV⁉️
Oh right – the difference is, it’s BAJAJ, not MALLIKs‼️@BeingSalmanKhan #BiggBoss19 #BB19 #AbhishekBajaj @Humarabajaj6

Even when Amaal charged at Abhishek Bajaj in the cage, the visuals were clear. Abhishek only turned to respond, but Amaal aggressively lunged at him first. Yet, no serious questioning was done on this. Similarly, Amaal and Shehbaz Badesha, who frequently use derogatory remarks and comment on appearances, were given a free pass without any warnings.
Omg so @BeingSalmanKhan is f liar , it was amaal who headbutted first, salman has lost all credibility to save his favourites.#AbhishekBajaj ref=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/BiggBoss19?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>#BiggBoss19 pic.twitter.com/5CKRqHiNgq</p>

The situation with Farrhana Bhatt was another eye-opener. She claimed that Abhishek told her “baahar mil,” but social media is filled with proof that it was actually Farrhana who used those words. Still, the narrative went unchecked on Weekend Ka Vaar.
Makers are trying hard to portray Abhishek in a negative light, but the audiences are neither blind nor do dumb — they know the truth ❤️🔥

Yes, I do appreciate that Salman Khan called out Kunickaa for misinterpreting Amaal’s words earlier and spreading them differently, but this selective accountability raises a big question: Is this Weekend Ka Vaar really about giving fair reality checks, or just about saving certain contestants while targeting others?
Reality Check for the Makers
The audience today is not blind. Social media is flooded with videos, proofs, and discussions pointing out this selective bias. Fans, celebrities, neutral viewers, and even fellow journalists are calling out the makers and the host for being unfair.
If Weekend Ka Vaar has truly turned into Amaal Bachao Andolan, then the makers must understand that the real reality check is waiting outside the house—from the very audience who keeps this show alive.
If Bigg Boss truly wants to maintain its credibility as a reality show, the makers must realize that ye public hai, ye sab jaanti hai. The audience can see through the bias, and no amount of whitewashing can hide the truth. It’s time that not just contestants, but also the makers and host get a reality check of their own. Otherwise, Weekend Ka Vaar will lose the very essence it was built upon.
