TV actors Mugdha Chaphekar and Ravish Desai have been in the headlines ever since Ravish announced their separation on social media. The couple, who met on the sets of Satrangi Sasural in 2014 and tied the knot in 2016, had actually parted ways more than a year ago, but Ravish’s recent announcement brought the news into the spotlight.
Ravish had penned a note on social media announcing their separation, but he later deleted the post. While many fans respected their decision, a section of social media users began speculating about the reason behind the separation. Some even pointed fingers at Mugdha and linked her name with her Kumkum Bhagya co-star Krishna Kaul.
In response to the growing negativity, Ravish took to social media once again—this time with a video—to shut down trolls.
In the video, he said, “Guys, come on, is it necessary that a third person has to be involved in every separation? Two people mutually decided to come together and mutually decided to part ways. Why can’t that be as simple? Whatever the reason may be, let that rest in our hearts. Please give us some privacy here. Why point a finger at a woman’s dignity, for what? What are you going to achieve out of that?”
He continued, “We’re simple people. It takes years to build our character. Please be kind. There’s already so much emotional struggle in the world—why add more?”
Ravish ended the video with a request for privacy so both he and Mugdha can heal in peace. “The least you and I can do is to be kind and compassionate towards every single person out here. You are not going to take anything apart from that. It’s a request. Please just stay away and give us the privacy that we need,” he said.
Mugdha and Ravish met on the sets of Satrangi Sasural in 2014 and tied the knot in 2016. Though their love story came to an end, Ravish’s mature and respectful stand has earned praise from many.
