Actor and reality TV star Priyank Sharma has dismissed rumors about his participation in Lock Upp Season 2. The former Bigg Boss contestant took to social media and clarified that he will not join the upcoming reality show, which premieres on Netflix on June 27.
Priyank shared a note on his Instagram Stories to address the ongoing speculation. He wrote that several media reports and social media posts falsely claimed that he would appear on a reality show. He firmly denied the reports and explained that he has moved on from reality television.
In his statement, Priyank said that his reality show journey ended in 2017. He added that since then, he has focused on improving his acting and dancing skills. He also shared that fans will now see him only in web shows, films, or live stage performances.
The actor’s clarification comes amid growing buzz around the contestant lineup of Lock Upp Season 2. As excitement builds ahead of the show’s launch, several celebrity names have surfaced online. However, Priyank made it clear that he has no plans to return to the reality TV space.
For those unaware, Priyank Sharma gained immense popularity after participating in MTV Splitsvilla 10 in 2017, where he finished as the runner-up. Soon after, he entered Bigg Boss 11 and became one of the season’s most talked-about contestants. Following his reality TV success, he shifted his focus to acting and appeared in web series such as Puncch Beat and Mum Bhai.
Meanwhile, Lock Upp Season 2 will start streaming on Netflix from June 27. The makers recently unveiled the theme, “Sach Ya Sazaa”, which promises intense drama and revelations. In the latest promo, jailers Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh revealed that contestants must own their truth inside the controversial reality show.
So far, Ram Kapoor, Shivangi Joshi, and Pamela Serena have joined the officially announced contestant list for the new season.
