TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee recently took a strong stand against online trolls who made insensitive comments about her 7-month-old son, Joy. The Saath Nibhaana Saathiya fame actress had shared a series of adorable family pictures on Instagram to mark her baby’s 7-month milestone, but what followed shocked many fans.
While most of her followers poured love and blessings on the photos, a section of social media users stooped low by trolling the baby for his skin color. One troll even went as far as calling the child a “little aatankwadi” (terrorist), while others used offensive terms like “kala” to mock the child’s complexion.
Not one to remain silent, Devoleena hit back at the hate. She took to her Instagram stories, exposing the trolls by tagging their accounts and labelling them “low life no. 1, 2, 3…” She also addressed some of them directly, slamming their mindset and calling out their shameful behaviour for targeting an innocent child.
Her brave move earned massive support from her fans. In the comment section of her post, fans lauded her for standing up against hate and reminded her that skin color doesn’t define a baby’s beauty. “Your baby is adorable, ignore the haters,” commented one user, while another wrote, “Love and positivity always wins.”
Devoleena married her longtime boyfriend and gym trainer Shanwaz Shaikh in December 2022. The couple welcomed their baby boy, Joy, on December 18, 2024.
On the work front, Devoleena was last seen in the TV show Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya. She quit the show last year to focus on her pregnancy and enjoy motherhood.
