Sonu Sood Promises Work Opportunity
Before Gurmeet’s message, actor Sonu Sood had also come forward in support of Rajpal Yadav. Sonu praised Yadav’s contribution to Indian cinema and called him a gifted artist. He pointed out that difficult phases often result from unfortunate timing rather than lack of talent.
Sonu announced that Yadav would feature in his upcoming film. He encouraged producers and directors to offer a signing amount that they could adjust against future projects. He clarified that such a gesture would preserve dignity and reflect solidarity rather than charity.
Rajpal Yadav Cheque Bounce Case
The case traces back to 2010, when Rajpal Yadav reportedly took a loan of Rs 5 crore to finance his directorial venture, Ata Pata Laapata. The film failed to perform well at the box office, which disrupted the repayment schedule. Over the years, interest and penalties allegedly pushed the outstanding amount close to Rs 9 crore.
