Actress Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, popularly known as Jasmine from sitcom Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai has died in a road accident. She was just 39 and recently had her Roka Ceremony.
As per reports, the actress was traveling by car with her fiance in Banjar, Himachal Pradesh when this unfortunate incident happened. The car slipped into a gorge after it was hit by a Truck at a steep turn.
Vaibhavi’s fiance was taken out of the car with the help of the Locals. He suffered a few injuries but Vaibhavi had died on the spot due to severe head injury. Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai producer JD Majethia had shared the news on social media. He wrote –
‘Unbelievable that life can be so unpredictable. A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyaya very popularly known as ‘Jasmine’ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away.
She met with an accident in North and the family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 AM for last rites. Rest in peace Vaibhavi.’
Vaibhavi’s colleagues and friends from the industry, Rupali Ganguly, Deven Bhojani and others have paid tribute to the late actress on social media. Her cremation took place today in Borivali West.
