Popular TV actress Rupali Ganguly has finally spoken up about the massive fire that broke out on the sets of her hit show Anupamaa. The incident happened on June 23 early morning, leaving the entire unit shocked.
Rupali Ganguly Pens Emotional Note After Anupamaa Set Fire
Three days after the fire accident, Rupali Ganguly took to social media to express her feelings. Sharing a heartfelt note, she wrote:
“Thank you for the prayers, blessings, and the overwhelming love during these trying times. What was once my second home, my karmbhoomi, and a sacred space I considered a temple, now stands still – but not broken.
With Rajan ji’s steady leadership, I’m reminded that even a setback can serve as a springboard – one that fuels us to rise, rebuild, and pour our hearts into what comes next. Like he says, what was lost can be created again. What truly matters are the lives that were saved.
We are deeply grateful to the almighty – there were no casualties, and all our fur babies are safe. Team DKP and the crew members of Anupamaa, your commendable efforts in not letting the shooting halt even for a single day is applaud worthy. Team Star Plus thank you for standing by us like a pillar of strength always. As Anupamaa always rises like a phoenix from the ashes… so shall we. With folded hands, thank you again. Jai Mata Di. Jai Mahakaal.”
What Caused Fire on Anupamaa Set?
According to reports, the fire started due to a possible short circuit, but the exact reason behind the fire mishap is still under investigation. Thankfully, no casualties were reported as the shoot was not going on at that moment. However, it is said that the producers have suffered huge financial losses as property worth crores was destroyed in the fire.
AICWA Demands Investigation into Anupamaa Set Fire
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has raised concerns over fire safety on TV sets after this incident. AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta shared a video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) stating:
“The fire broke out around 5 AM, and the fire brigade reached an hour later. We demand a high-level investigation into fire and safety violations on the Anupamaa set. Till date, no action has ever been taken against any producer, production house, or channel. Thankfully, no worker lost their life this time.”
He also urged Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis to look into the matter and take strict action if negligence is found.
Anupamaa Team Praised for Resuming Shoot Quickly
Despite the massive damage, the production team continued shooting without a break, which has been praised by Rupali Ganguly and fans. Viewers are now waiting to see how the show progresses after this setback.
