During a conversation with Swara Bhasker, she opened up about her ongoing divorce and custody battle over her seven-year-old son.
The emotional moment unfolded during the Ticket to Finale task. The Rulers of the Tower had to pair up and mutually decide which contender would continue in the race and who would lose the opportunity.
Sonam paired up with Karan Patel, and the duo had to choose between Swara Bhasker and Gautam Gulati. Karan picked Swara, explaining that she had left her three-year-old daughter to participate in the show. He highlighted how difficult it must be for a mother to stay away from her child for such a long time.
Sonam, who shares a close bond with Gautam, initially chose his name. However, Karan’s argument about a mother’s emotional struggle made Sonam reconsider her decision. She eventually agreed to pick Swara, which left her emotionally overwhelmed.
Sonam Reveals Her Custody Battle, Says She Cannot Meet Her Son
After the task, Swara noticed Sonam crying and warmly hugged her. She asked Sonam if she had a child, wondering whether that was the reason behind her emotional breakdown.
Sonam then revealed that she has a seven-year-old son who lives in Haryana. She shared that she cannot meet or even speak to him.
The contestant further revealed that her divorce proceedings are underway and she has applied for her son’s custody. However, she explained that she needs to become financially independent before she can get custody of her child.
Sonam said, “That’s the reason I have come here. I will speak about it on the last day. They don’t even let me speak to my son.”
Swara encouraged her to share her story on television. Sonam agreed and said she would speak about it on the last day of the show.
Sonam also made a shocking revelation about her husband, claiming that he once told her, “Main tere marne ka intezaar kar raha hun. Tu kab maregi?” She further alleged that he wants to remarry and has separated her from her son.
Swara hugged Sonam warmly as she continued to share her pain.
Earlier, Sonam had discussed her personal struggles with co-contestant Kajal Raghwani. She also got emotional during Family Week when Swara’s daughter sent her an audio message, which the makers played in front of the Rulers and Workers.
