Pratiksha Honmukhe, known for her role as Ruhi in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,’ has finally spoken out about her abrupt termination from the show. On Instagram, she shared a fan-made video featuring behind-the-scenes glimpses of her time as Ruhi, and penned a long note with it.
Reflecting on her journey, Pratiksha expressed how Ruhi became more than just a character, but an emotion for her. She recalled her initial struggles on the set, learning the nuances of facing the camera, and the challenges of portraying Ruhi. Despite facing obstacles, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity and the lessons learned both professionally and personally.
She wrote – “Ruhi wasnโt just a character for me it was an emotion!!I Still remember the first day of my shoot which wasnโt easy at all.. everything was very new for me.. never ever I had faced the camera in my life before but that day I understood the power of facing the camera and the power of an artist.. though I was a like a headless chicken but still tried to give my 110%.. digged into myself and tried to find out that what should I do more to portray and perform Ruhi effortlessly and gracefully.. read each and every screenplay just to understand everything clearly.”
In her post, Pratiksha further reflected on the highs and lows of her time on the show, expressing gratitude for the experience despite encountering both supportive and critical individuals. She highlighted the challenges of being in the public eye, noting the ease with which people pass judgment without considering the impact on mental health. Despite the setbacks, she expressed love for her character, Ruhi, and thanked fans for their support.
“Met few good and bad people during this journey got to know that not every person knows the real meaning of humanity. got to know that itโs very easy for people to judge you or to comment on you because you are a public figure, they will not think even once before judging you. Understood that people can really be cruel and can say mean things for real without even thinking the repercussions of itโฆ learnt that you can be at the most successful point of your life and your mental health can totally fall down.. Life happened , but most importantly I learned who deserves a seat on my table and who will never sit at it again. I am forever grateful for this beautiful opportunity learned lots of things professionally and personally !Never ever I can forget RUHฤฐ in my life and Thankyou so much you all for loving Ruhi so muchโค๏ธILOVEYOU ALLโค๏ธ๐งฟ” – she wrote further in the post.
However, Pratiksha deleted the Instagram post later.
Fans showed mixed reactions, with some urging her to return to the show and praising her performance, while others criticized her professionalism. This is Pratiksha’s first public statement since producer Rajan Shahi terminated her, citing unprofessional behavior on set.
Producer Rajan Shahi had replaced Pratiksha and her co-actor Shehzada Dhami overnight with Garvita Sadhvani and Rohit Purohit as Ruhi and Armaan respectively, citing professionalism issues. While the termination sparked headlines, both Shehzada and Pratiksha remained silent until now.
