Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has now officially confirmed the much-awaited sequel to his 2019 war drama Kesari. Titled Kesari Chapter 2, the film is set to release in theaters on April 18, 2025, with the first teaser dropping on Monday, March 24. Joining Akshay in this historical action drama are R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday, marking an exciting new casting for the franchise.
A Look Back at Kesari
The first Kesari, directed by Anurag Singh, was based on the Battle of Saragarhi (1897), where 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army bravely fought 10,000 Afghan invaders. Akshay portrayed Havildar Ishar Singh, who led his regiment with immense valor and sacrifice. The film became a box office hit, with audiences widely appreciating its gripping war sequences, emotional storytelling, and Akshay’s stellar performance.
What to Expect in Kesari Chapter 2
Although the makers haven’t revealed much about the sequel’s plot, reports strongly suggest that it will, once again, explore another historical battle involving Sikh warriors.
