After failing to get sufficient help from the local police, Divyanka reached out on Twitter for assistance from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. She tweeted, โDear PM Ms. @GiorgiaMeloni, we were passionately touring Italy until we got robbed. Reported to the police. But robberies are being taken so casually here that we have already lost hope along with our enthusiasm. How will I & my people ever gather the courage to visit Italy again?โ
Later, On Instagram, Divyanka thanked her supporters warmly. She mentioned they received financial help from a friend, allowing them to replace their insured rental car. She wrote that they’re heading to another city’s embassy for their emergency certificate. Divyanka clarified they hadn’t lost everything as reported, with some belongings still in the car. She assured everyone that their spirits were high despite the challenges.
In their latest update, Divyanka and Vivek announced that they have received their emergency certificate to return to India. They shared a picture on Instagram, smiling and holding the certificate, with the caption: “Heading to Bharat soon. We want to thank โYouโ for your overwhelming love and support.
