Netflix’s reality show Lock Upp 2 grabbed attention on its premiere day with dramatic moments, celebrity contestants, and shocking revelations. One of the biggest surprises came from actress Akanksha Chamola, who announced that she and her husband, actor Gaurav Khanna, have decided to end their marriage.
Akanksha made a grand entry as a contestant on the show. Before entering the Lock Upp arena, the hosts asked her to reveal a secret. She surprised everyone by sharing that she and Gaurav have been living separately for the past one year and are now heading for a divorce.
While speaking to hosts Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, Akanksha said, “Okay, so me and Gaurav are getting a divorce. Yeah, we’ve been separated, living separately for the last one year. It wasn’t public, but that’s my secret.”
She also clarified that both of them made the decision together and continue to share a respectful relationship. Akanksha said they still talk to each other, but they no longer see a future together as husband and wife because they want different things in life. She added that there is no bitterness or bad blood between them.
Riteish Deshmukh then asked if the separation happened during Gaurav’s time on Bigg Boss 19. Akanksha confirmed that it did. She revealed that their families believed they had simply taken some time apart because they continued talking, attending events together, and supporting each other. However, she admitted that the feeling of being a married couple had already faded.
Gaurav and Akanksha had earlier made headlines during Bigg Boss 19 after Gaurav spoke about wanting to have a child. He revealed that Akanksha was not ready for parenthood, and he respected her choice. The couple also faced trolling and constant questions about their relationship during and after the show.
