Sunny Deol Announces Sequel to Iconic War Film Border on 27th Anniversary

Fans of the 1997 blockbuster war film Border received a thrilling surprise on its 27th anniversary. Actor Sunny Deol, who played the lead role, announced the sequel, Border 2, through his social media profiles. Sharing an announcement video, Sunny captioned the post: “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2.”

Sunny Deol will reprise his iconic character from the original film, which was directed by J.P. Dutta. The sequel is set to be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta and will be directed by Anurag Singh.

In the announcement video, Sunny’s voiceover says, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki woh wapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai, phirse.” The announcement video concluded with the nostalgic tune of ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ from the first film, stirring emotions among fans.

Border, directed by J.P. Dutta, starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, and Sudesh Berry, alongside a supporting cast including Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt, and Sharbani Mukherjee.
