Panic gripped YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav’s residence in Gurugram on early Sunday morning after multiple rounds of firing were reported outside his house. According to the police, the incident took place between 5 AM and 6 AM when three unidentified men on bikes opened fire at his residence.
Officials said that around 25 to 30 rounds were fired before the assailants fled the spot. Fortunately, no one was injured in the firing. Elvish was not present at home when the firing took place, though his family members and caretaker were inside the house.
Senior police officers rushed to the location soon after the incident, cordoned off the area, and started scanning CCTV footage for clues. In the initial footage, three attackers can be seen, out of which two are clearly visible. Police have launched an investigation to identify and nab the suspects.
Soon after the firing, gangsters Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritolia, associated with the Himanshu Bhau gang, claimed responsibility. In a social media post, the gang alleged that ‘Elvish Yadav had promoted betting apps that has destroyed many households.’
Elvish’s father, Ram Avtar Yadav, confirmed that the family was at home when the shots were fired. He said, “The police administration is doing its job well. In the CCTV footage, the miscreants can be seen clearly. We hope strict action will be taken.”
The bullets were fired at the first floor of the building. Elvish usually stays on the second floor, while his family occupies the third floor.
Police officials assured that an extensive investigation is underway to trace the shooters and their gang links. Security outside Yadav’s residence has been tightened following the incident.
