Actress Shefali Jariwala, popularly known as the ‘Kaanta Laga girl’, passed away at the age of 42. As per reports, Shefali suffered a cardiac arrest on the night of June 27. She was brought dead to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by her husband Parag Tyagi and three others.
Shefali Jariwala Suffered Cardiac Arrest
Journalist Vickey Lalwani was the first to share the news of her untimely demise on social media. He wrote, “Shefali Jariwala, the Kaanta Laga girl, is no more. The reason for her death is not known yet to this journalist, but I can confirm that she was brought dead to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital (opposite Star Bazaar Andheri) about 45 minutes prior to this post. Shefali was rushed to the hospital by her husband and three others.”
He further shared the statement of hospital staff. “This news was confirmed by the reception staff of the hospital, who said, ‘Shefali had expired before she was brought in. Her husband and a few others accompanied the body.’ We asked for the RMO who took over the call and simply said, ‘For further details, please speak to Dr Vijay Lulla (cardiologist).’”
When Dr Lulla was contacted, he did not deny the news but said, “I cannot divulge any details regarding any patient.”
Dr Sushant from the same hospital also confirmed her death and stated that her body is being sent for post mortem to Cooper Hospital.
Mumbai Police Confirms Her Death
Mumbai Police sources have confirmed Shefali’s death and shared, “Actress Shefali Jariwala has passed away at the age of 42. Her body was found at her residence in the Andheri area of Mumbai.” Police is waiting for post mortem reports to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Shefali Jariwala became an overnight sensation with her music video Kaanta Laga in 2002, earning her the title of Kaanta Laga girl. She later appeared in the movie Mujhse Shaadi Karogi alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. Shefali was also seen in Nach Baliye 5 with husband Parag Tyagi. In 2019, she participated in Bigg Boss 13, where her strong opinions and confident personality won hearts.
