Legendary musician AR Rahman was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai early this morning at around 7:30 AM. Initial reports suggested that Rahman complained of chest pain and underwent several tests, including an ECG and Echocardiogram, to assess his health condition.
However, the latest update from his son, AR Ameen, and a medical bulletin issued by the hospital confirmed that Rahman’s condition was not as serious as initially feared.
According to AR Ameen, the cause of Rahman’s hospitalization was dehydration, which led to him feeling weak. The routine tests revealed no major concerns, and Rahman was discharged after receiving appropriate care. Ameen expressed his gratitude to fans and well-wishers on Instagram for their continuous support and prayers.
Ameen’s post on Instagram read: “To all our dear fans, family, and well-wishers, I sincerely thank you for your love, prayers, and support. My father felt a bit weak due to dehydration, hence we went ahead and did some routine tests, but I’m happy to share that he is doing well now. Your kind words and blessings mean a lot to us. We truly appreciate your concern and continued support. Much love and gratitude to you all.”

In his Instagram story, Ameen shared the official medical bulletin, which stated: “Mr. AR Rahman, visited Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road today with dehydration symptoms and got discharged after routine check-up.”

Fans of the iconic composer can rest assured that he is in good health and on his way to a full recovery.
