Bigg Boss 20 continues to grab attention with its contestants and their conversations inside the house. In a recent episode, Mahhi Vij and Bhojpuri actress Aamrapali Dubey had a conversation about her personal life, boyfriend and popular actor Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua. However, their conversation has sparked a debate on social media, with netizens criticising Mahhi for asking personal questions and commenting on Aamrapali’s weight.
During their conversation, Mahhi asked Aamrapali who had sent her the gamcha. Amrapali replied that her mother had sent it. She then spoke about her life, saying, “My mother is the only one in my life. My life is very boring.”
Mahhi then asked her whether she had a boyfriend. Aamrapali replied, “No, I haven’t had a boyfriend for many years.”
Mahhi responded, “Now that you are becoming slim, you will find a boyfriend.”
However, Aamrapali handled the comment calmly and explained that her weight had nothing to do with her relationship status. She said, “It is not that I don’t have a boyfriend because of my weight. There are many, who like overweight people. I still don’t have a boyfriend. So, it means that I choose not to have a boyfriend.”
The conversation then moved towards Bhojpuri actors, with Mahhi asking Aamrapali about eligible bachelors in the industry. Mahhi mentioned Pawan Singh, Khesari Lal Yadav and Dinesh Lal Yadav. She also said that she knew Nirahua by his face.
Aamrapali clarified that Nirahua’s real name is Dinesh Lal Yadav. When Mahhi asked whether his children had grown up, Aamrapali revealed that his eldest son was 23 years old.
Mahhi then recalled seeing Aamrapali with Nirahua and his children at a restaurant in Bandra. She also asked Aamrapali about his wife. Aamrapali explained that Nirahua had an arranged marriage before he entered the acting industry and that his wife was a homemaker.
When Mahhi asked whether Nirahua had married only once and whether he had a girlfriend, Aamrapali replied, “He must have had girlfriends.” Mahhi then remarked, “But he wouldn’t have left his wife.” Aamrapali agreed.
Later, Mahhi discussed the conversation with Qazi Touqeer, Kanika Mann and Gullu. She revealed that she had wanted to bring up the topic with Aamrapali and said, “I wanted to get to a particular point with her, and I reached that point. I indirectly told her, ‘I have heard a lot of rumours about you and Nirahua.’ She said that there was nothing like that.”
Mahhi also added that Aamrapali seemed sensible and did not speak unnecessarily.
Aamrapali and Nirahua have worked together in several Bhojpuri films, and their on-screen chemistry has often fuelled speculation about their relationship. Rumours about their alleged romance and secret marriage have circulated for years. However, Aamrapali has repeatedly denied dating or marrying Nirahua and has described their bond as an unfiltered friendship.
Following the episode, several netizens criticised Mahhi for bringing up Aamrapali’s personal life on national television. Some viewers also called out her comment about Aamrapali becoming slim and finding a boyfriend, accusing her of body-shaming the actress.
Social media users, meanwhile, praised Aamrapali for handling the questions with grace and maintaining her composure throughout the conversation. Many felt that she answered Mahhi without getting into a personal argument or making comments about Mahhi’s own life.
Mahhi has also been in the news for her personal life after she and her husband Jay Bhanushali recently announced their separation. This has led some viewers to question why Mahhi asked Aamrapali about her relationship with Nirahua when she has also faced questions about her own marriage.
